Storage & ThawingAbout the Product
These large domestic sea scallops are so versatile and the ideal size for grilling or pan searing. Considered a delicacy, these tasty morsels of the sea have a briny yet slightly sweet flavor and a tender, almost buttery, texture. Scallops are a great option for those not typically fond of shellfish because of their mild flavor. Scallops are packed by count per pound, U/10 means less than 10 pieces per pound, so you know these are some of the largest scallops on the market! Larger scallops are really so simple to prepare, fully defrost in the refrigerator, gently rinse and pat dry, then pan sear in a large skillet on medium-high heat in a bit of olive oil – or a combination of olive oil and butter to create a crispy exterior crust - cook on one side without disturbing, for about 4 minutes, then carefully flip to the other side and cook, be sure not to overcook! Serve with a squeeze of lemon, some garlic butter or even tropical salsa. Ships frozen.
- Three 1 lb packages, approx. 10 scallops per package.
- Certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
